Our new dining destination, from the team behind The Marksman.

We’re launching an all new dining experience with Jon Rotheram, Tom Harris and John Ogier, the trio behind critically acclaimed Hackney Public House, The Marksman.

Lasdun Restaurant will launch in May 2023, in partnership with KERB who are responsible for curating our new world-class food and drink offering.

Named after our architect, Denys Lasdun, this new restaurant will take inspiration from our modernist design and the rich, diverse culinary history of London, with a menu reminiscent of an old English grill room. With seasonal, locally sourced ingredients, it will showcase the very best produce Britain has to offer through a classic yet contemporary lens.

Situated at the heart of our building, you’ll be able to join us for world-class destination dining and experience the very best of culinary and culture under one roof.

“We are thrilled to be opening our new restaurant Lasdun in one of our favourite buildings and to be part of such a celebrated cultural institution as the National Theatre.”

Some of the Marksman’s signature classics are sure to be on offer, including its seasonal pies to share, buns and a new take on the famous Brown Butter & Honey tart. Grilled chops, baked whole fish and classic sides will also feature, with exciting new additions to be revealed.

In a nod to our riverside setting, British seafood will feature at the forefront of the menu. You will be greeted by a marble Oyster counter, with a fine selection of seafood whilst London cured Smoked Salmon and Smoked Eel will be on display in a bespoke fridge.

The design has been brought to life in collaboration with Guild of St Luke. It will incorpoate the existing brutalist aesthetic, reinstating some of the original features with added elements of wood and brass to create a dining room in keeping with the building’s heritage.

Here’s a little taste of what to expect:

  • As well as offering pre and post-theatre menus, a full a la carte menu will be available from 5-11pm.
  • The restaurant will be open for dinner Monday – Saturday and lunch bookings will be available in line with matinees starting on Wednesdays and Saturdays only.
  • A sleek private dining room will also be available to hire for small groups.
  • The bar will be open to non-diners too and will offer a carefully curated selection of cocktails, wines and a dedicated bar menu featuring shellfish and small plates of delicious things.

Reservations are now available for bookings from 11 May via www.lasdunresturant.com.
