Archive Learning Days

Archive Learning Days

Using screenings of past productions, prompt books, costume bibles, production images and press reviews, Archive Learning Days explore key NT productions, practitioners and genres. Suitable for GCSE and A Level students, you will have the opportunity to work with a practitioner and archivist to explore NT productions through the ages. These workshops are held at specific times throughout the year on set plays and themes.

Archive Learning Days are free for state schools, due to limited capacity we do not offer Archive Learning Days to independent schools.

Following government advice about Coronavirus, the National Theatre building is currently closed to the public until 31 August. Please note, the Secondary Schools team is currently out of the office and are currently not taking expressions of interest for Archive Learning Days. If you would like to know more about the programme, please contact Sarah Eastaff, Secondary School Programme Manager, on seastaff@nationaltheatre.org.uk.

If you are interested in exploring past NT productions with your students, why not explore the NT Collection for Schools. For more information about how you and your students can access the service from home, please visit the NT Collection for Schools page.

To register your interest in Archive Learning Days in Autumn 2020 please email Jane Ball, Secondary and FE Programme Manager: jball@nationaltheatre.org.uk. Please note this inbox will not be monitored during the building closure.

Any school can access the Archive for free and arrange screenings of specific productions by appointment. Please contact them directly.
