Overview
Explore the National Theatre’s 2019 production of Three Sisters adapted by Inua Ellams. This collection of resources includes downloadable PDFs and short videos exploring the production.
The first PDF, Three Sisters Learning Guide, provides a detailed plot synopsis, notes on production, and key production elements, from performance style to design.
The Black Plays Archive: Three Sisters Pack provides a historical context of the play, interviews with Inua Ellams and Nadia Falls, information on character, theme and structure within the play, and exercises, discussion points and essay questions for students.
Learning outcomes
These resources can be used to support students studying the play as part of a GCSE or A Level course in Drama and Theatre Studies.
In particular those who are studying the work of Anton Chekhov and contemporary adaptations of his play, Nadia Fall as a contemporary theatre practitioner, and the work of Inua Ellams.
