16–21: Sculpt, plaster and paint – Scenic Art Course

16–21: Sculpt, plaster and paint – Scenic Art Course

Take part in this practical, three-day course and discover how set designs are realised for the stage. Inspired by the NT production of ‘Master Harold’…and the boys, you will create a full-size section of scenery with our scenic artists. Learn how to imitate crumbling brick walls and ageing plasterwork, experiment with 50s style advertisements and explore metal effects and paint finishes.

No experience necessary, just a willingness to learn new skills and to get messy!

To apply, please complete this form by Thursday 10 October. This is your chance to tell us about your interest in theatre and design. The more you tell us – while keeping within the word limit – the more we will understand about you and why you want to take part.

Workshop dates:

Tuesday 22 October 10am–5pm
Wednesday 23 October 10am–5pm
Thursday 24 October 10am–5pm
Duffield Studio, National Theatre

This course is available to 16–21-year-olds and you must be available for every session to take part.

£30 (bursaries are available). Price includes a ticket to see ‘Master Harold’…and the boys on Thursday 17 October at 7.30pm.

We would never want the cost of a course or project to prevent anyone from taking part. A limited number of full and part-funded bursary places are available. If you would like to apply for one, please indicate this on the form when you apply.
