Composing movement with FUBUNATION

Young people taking part in a NT youth workshop

Composing movement with FUBUNATION

This event has now been cancelled

Working with directors of FUBUNATION, Rhys Dennis and Waddah Sinada, this creative weekend will share the techniques of devising movement as a form of storytelling. Explore the dynamics of relationships through movement using contemporary dance forms and improvisation methods.

We are looking for young artists of any discipline who are eager to learn skills in movement direction and composition. These skills are transferable and can be used to compliment other art forms outside of dance. This course is open to all levels and abilities, and it is not essential to have previous dance experience.

FUBUNATION was founded in 2017 with the vision of creating visibility and representation for people of colour in the arts. Ruins, the company’s first production, recently won the Conny Janssen Dance Award and will be restaged on the Conny Janssen Danst Company’s 2020 Autumn tour. FUBUNATION aims to display rich and honest work, driven by the human experience.
