Jessica Wright
After training at Central School of Ballet, Jessica joined D.A.N.C.E. directed by Wayne McGregor, William Forsythe, Frederic Flamand and Angelin Preljocaj.
She went on to dance with Company Wayne McGregor for 11 years, creating roles and touring internationally in Entity, Dyad 1909, FAR, UNDANCE, Atomos, Autobiography and Tree of Codes amongst others. She continues to work closely with McGregor, touring with his company as Staging Director and coaching companies including Hungarian National Ballet, Norwegian National Ballet and The Royal Ballet in his work.
Jessica Wright also choreographs and directs work in collaboration with Morgann Runacre-Temple, collectively known as Jess and Morgs. Together they have made numerous award-winning dance films and interdisciplinary stage productions. Their work has been featured on Channel 4, BBC iPlayer, Canal+TV, at TATE Liverpool, the Venice Biennale and at Sadler’s Wells. Commissioners and partners include Channel 4, English National Ballet, Scottish Ballet, Edinburgh International Festival and Manchester International Festival. They were nominated by the Critics’ Circle at the 2021 National Dance Awards for Outstanding Creative Contribution and are current recipients of the Genesis Foundation Award.
In 2022 Jess and Morgs were commissioned by Scottish Ballet to create a full-length reworking of the original Ballet Coppélia which premiered at Edinburgh International Festival to critical acclaim before touring to Sadlers Wells, London.
