Discover the best ticket deals and concessions for our productions at the South Bank.

Tickets at £25 or under

Across the year, 25% of tickets at the National Theatre on the South Bank are priced at £25 or under. These are in high demand and may be limited to two per customer. They may offer a restricted view of the stage.

Reduced prices are also available for preview performances for many of our shows. Details of dates and prices can be found on the pages for each show.

£10 Friday Rush

Every Friday at 1pm, we release £10 Friday Rush tickets for each of the following week’s performances at the National’s three theatres, and selected performances of our West End transfers.

Standby tickets

Subject to availability, any remaining unsold tickets are available exclusively in-person from our Box Office 60 minutes before the start of each performance.

General Standby:

Save up to £15 off selected tickets, available in person from the Box Office, 60 minutes before the start of each performance. Subject to availability.

Reduced Standby:

£20 tickets are available in-person from the Box Office, 60 minutes before the start of each performance. Reduce price standby tickets are only available to Students, Stage Pass, SOLT & theatre union members and the unemployed producing a valid ID. Subject to availability.

Concessions & discounts

Over 60s

All over-60s can save on midweek matinees:

Coriolanus, The Other Place: £20 off £69 and £49 tickets
Ballet Shoes and Dear England: £20 off £79 and £59 tickets
The Importance of Being Earnest: £20 off £86 and £66 tickets

For our shows in the Dorfman Theatre, higher priced tickets are reduced to £36 for midweek matinees.

The discount price is available to select when you have clicked on a seat in a seating plan and the price/s available will be displayed.

This concession is limited to two per customer, per performance.

Under 18s

Under 18 concessions are available for Monday – Friday evening performances and all matinee performances at the National Theatre. Tickets priced £40 and above are reduced by £20

To book online, click on an eligible seat or seats from the seating plan. You can then choose the standard price or Under 18 price.

This concession is limited to two per customer, per performance.

School group bookings

For UK schools & FE college groups

For groups of 10+ students from UK schools and colleges, the following group rates are available:

  • State schools: Group tickets at £10 each, plus one teacher at the same price for every 9 pupils.
  • Independent schools: Group tickets at £12 each, plus one teacher at the same price for every 9 pupils.

Available Monday – Thursday, during school term time only. Subject to availability. Excludes West End & touring productions.

UK school group bookings

UK university or higher education groups

For groups of 10+ students aged 19-25 from UK Universities or Higher Education:

  • Group tickets at £15 each plus 1 teacher at the same price, for every 9 students.

Available Monday – Thursday, during school term time only. Subject to availability. Excludes West End & touring productions.

UK Univeristy group bookings

Non-UK-based schools or education groups

For groups of 10+ students aged 25 for younger in any form of education

  • Group tickets at £20 each plus 1 teacher at the same price, for every 9 students (£25 for Ballet Shoes and Dear England).

Available Monday – Thursday, during school term time only. Subject to availability. Excludes West End & touring productions.

Non UK education group bookings

Adult group bookings

For groups of 8 or more Adults, discount rates can be applied to £49/£69 and £59/£79 tickets (applies to any available seats)

  • 8-11 people: £2 off
  • 12-19 people: £4 off
  • 20+ people: £6 off and one free ticket for the group leader

Adult group rates are not available for reduced price previews, Saturday evenings or for shows in the Dorfman Theatre.

Adult group rates are no longer available for The Importance of Being Earnest.
